Meet our intern:
Cecelia earned a bachelor’s degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Liberty University with a focus on Christian Counseling. During the last five years, she has worked with teens and children in residential facilities and youth groups. She is currently enrolled with Liberty University to complete her Master’s Degree program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has experience working on a team that uses Cognitive Behavior therapy, Mindfulness practices, solution focused therapy, and Trust-based-relational-Intervention.
Cecelia focuses on building safe connections and a safe place for self-exploration, healing, and learning. Cecelia’s empathetic and client centered approach aims to help individuals and families achieve emotional wellbeing and a healthy sense of self. She believes that everyone has strengths that they can use to shine and realizes that everyone has areas they can work on as well.
During her free time, you could find her at Union Gospel Mission while volunteering with the families, or at home doing puzzles, or working on DIY building projects. She loves going to church with her family and then spending the afternoon in a competitive board/card game. She puts a lot into her family and tries to enjoy every minute with them that she can.
Fun facts to know about Cecelia, she is a mother in a blended family and now has eight grown children. She had a farm that her and her husband were planning on using to feed their family, but because of her compassion and love for the animals they turned it into a a no-harm farm. Her animals have a pretty good life!
