About Jeremiah

Seasonally bearded but the same professional experience either way. 

Jeremiah first crossed the long bridge around 2007 on the way Bonners Ferry to explore an opporunity. The evening trip through downtown Sandpoint in a rental car with no traffic and a fresh inch of snow was magical. The luster has not warn off at all! He moved to Sandoint in 2014 after spending many years trying to figure out how to make Sandpoint an option. Though he is originally from Oregon, he relocated from outside Boise and considers Idaho his home.  

Jeremiah earned his Bachelor degree as a Dean’s List graduate in 2004 and his Master degree in Clinical Counseling from George Fox University in 2011. Jeremiah is a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of Idaho and the state of Montana. He is also licensed as a Professional Counselor in Oregon. He has clinical experience and training in many different areas including but not limited to: Christian counseling, trauma therapy, grief/loss, addiction(Social media, gambling, sexual, food, etc.), anxiety(general and specific), personality disorders, depression, relationship challenges, neuroscience, attachment, equine therapy, play therapy, family therapy and experiential therapy. At Healthy Perspectives he focuses primarily on individuals, couples and families who have encountered trauma, anxiety, depression and/or communication challenges. He enjoys working with young athletes who struggle with relationship management, anxiety and other sport related mental blocks. He also has thousands of hours of group work in his history and enjoys group dynamics with teenagers, young adults and parents.  He is trained in clinical supervision as well.  

Jeremiah has worked with teens, adults and families since 2001. Over the years, he has worked in private practice, residential programming, multiple school systems and clinical outpatient settings. Jeremiah approaches counseling from a relational position using Rogerian theory as a foundation to build treatment options. He views his work as a calling.   

In his free time, Jeremiah loves to spend time with his wife and two daughters. When he’s not busy serving teens, adults, couples and families he enjoys exploring the great outdoors in many ways, such as: hiking, biking, driving, skiing, snowboarding, fishing, tubing on rivers, jumping in puddles, swimming at the lake, etc. 

Here are a few interesting facts about Jeremiah. He played college baseball. He has jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. He has served many thousands(not an exaggeration) of teens since 2001 not to mention all the couples, families and adults. He discovered God in 1989 near a small town called Lapwai, Idaho even though he’s not from Idaho originally. He also has a cool collection of sports cards.
